  • Sides of cut difficult to distinguish in places. Possibly cut into foundation trench fill of pier 2026 --> 2244. Wider at west than east. Widest point at center of cut. Base of cut curves gently.
  • Base of cut composed of soft clayey soil flecked with carbon. Foundation of pier 2026 visible in west. 2247 abuts this, but as yet it has no stratigraphic unit number.
