Description

  • Hanging grip
  • bronze
  • 36 mm long, 3 mm wide, .5 mm cm thick. ring D 10 mm.
  • Small bronze pincers joined to a ring for suspension. Below this a second ring could close the pincers when pushed down. This originally may have been used for hanging lamp chains - when the pincers were released the lamp could be removed. It was found at the neck of a skeleton, and may have been reused as a pendant. CF: this was not in fact found around skeleton neck - not sure where that came from/ confusion with lampchain found around infants neck?
  • pincers bent slightly, otherwise good
