  • Bronze
  • L. 6.5 cm total. Ht. D. loop, 26 mm outer diam., 15 mm. inner diam.; width of band, 8 mm, th. 6 mm. Leaf: length, 44 mm, Width, max. 33 mm Thickness, 10 mm. at center, narrowing to 5 mm. at edges and tip.
  • Thick, heart-shaped leaf, with a thick ring at right angles to the leaf face. Cast in one piece with an extremely smooth finish, and rounded edges.
  • Intact; encrusted, light green patina..
  • Leaf-shaped bronze pendant that resembles a class of pendants found on slave collars and generally dated to the fourth and fifth centuries in Rome. These are generally inscribed on their faces with admonitions to catch the runaway. See Trimble 2016, and for the form the pendant 239 from the Antiquarium Comunale.
