  • Buckle, oblong
  • Bronze and iron
  • L. 2.9 cm., w. ca. 2.3 cm. Frame: ovoid ends, w. ca. 5 mm., th. 2 - 3 mm; vertical bar where tang was mounted, diam. 2 mm.; ornamental bar on other side, l. 2.25 cm., w. max. ca. 6 mm.
  • An ovoid buckle close to D-shaped buckle profiles, with decorative frame. The main loop above and below is in section a flat strip, cast in one piece with an ornamental vertical element at one side. This consists in a `roll' shape with two globular elements in the middle set off by a fine raised band from globular knobs. To this was fitted, between a globular projection at the ends of the main loop, a thin iron shaft to take the tang.
  • Good. Intact; the iron element is only lightly rusted.
