Description

  • Buckle, Double D-shaped 'a farfalla'
  • Iron
  • L 2.8 cm., ht, 2.3 cm. Frame th. 4 x 4 mm.
  • A small buckle with addorsed D0frames. The section is squared. The small tang mounted on the central bar is corroded in place. These are typically used on shoes (Vona 2008, 165).
  • Intact, slightly corroded, light encrustations only.
  • Attested in Tuscany in the second half of the 14th century: Vona 2008, 165.
