Description
- Rosary round beads with cord traces
- Bone, cord of vegetal material
- 22 Globular beads: diam. 7 mm., piercing diam. 2 mm. Barrel bead: l. 1 cm., diam. ca. 9.5 cm., piercing diam. 3 mm.
- Remains of a rosary of bone beads of two types. First, twenty-two survive of globular small plain beads, six of them as pairs of two joined still by their cord, showing they were spaced regularly 4 mm apart. Fifteen of the other sixteen beads have still cord within their holes, projecting in tufts. Second, there is one large barrel bead identical to that which emerged from SU 3034, O 1, decorated with grooving and incision around its middle. rnSee O 571 for an identical globular bead with cord protruding, from SU 3041 adjacent to our 3042.
- Each bead is intact, unmarred; the organic cord fibers are unravelling and broken away in most instances close to their bead.
