  • Buckle, Round or Brooch
  • Bronze, iron
  • Diam. 5 cm. Hoop, th. 7 x 5 mm. Iron ring, w. 7 mm, th. 3.5 mm.
  • A well-made circle of thick bronze, ovoid in section. A small loop of heavily corroded and rusted iron is still attached. probably the attachment of the tongue.
  • Bronze ring, good. Iron loop badly rusted and encrusted.
  • This simple type of buckle appears very commonly at castle sites, including Monte Copiolo, where it appears in contexts from the 12th to 16th centuries: Vona 2008, 165.
