DescriptionA well-made circle of thick bronze, ovoid in section. A small loop of heavily corroded and rusted iron is still attached. probably the attachment of the tongue.
State of ConservationBronze ring, good. Iron loop badly rusted and encrusted.
ComparandaThis simple type of buckle appears very commonly at castle sites, including Monte Copiolo, where it appears in contexts from the 12th to 16th centuries: Vona 2008, 165.
