  • tubulus fitili, for hot air in the bath complex. One side preserved, broken on other. Two adjoining sides show traces of calcium, probably from where it was attached to the wall. The opposite short side, shows an indentation, which is mirrored in the same place on the inside. however; is not a hole, does not go through. The fourth side shows a small rectangular hole (does not go through, 1.6 x 0.6) for another attachment? Look up how these tubi were used! the same fourth side shows a zig-zag motive of impressions of three fingers, interpreted by Giorgio as a test to see if the clay is hard enough for the tube to go into the kiln.
