- Stratum presents a smooth surface with a slight slope inclined from west to east. The heavy concentration of large rubble inclusions starts about midway through it and is more concentrated even along the west edge of the trench. The soil matrix is black in color, friable, and with heavy concentration of charcoal throughout. There is also a heavy concentration of ceramics and animal bones with random distribution. Along the southern edge there was a netable concentration of tesserae (mosaic). The distinction with the successive stratum was clear for reasons of color, consistency and composition.
