- Compact but quite loose when troweled brownish-yellow layer containing earth, pebbles, pieces of roof tiles, brick fragments, pavement fragments, reticulate blocks, large and small stones, very few animal bones, very little charcoal, bits of mortar, pieces of slate, marble revetment fragments, and a few pieces of red painted plaster.
- Turned whitish-yellow when dried by the sun. Offset of north wall visible. Clearly fills the praefornium opening; debris-very little pottery.
