  • A cut evident in mortar pavement 4017. Context bottoms onto a distinct layer of dark, burned earth.
  • The cut is very clear where it is preserved in the 4017. It's eastern limit is less clear. Its western limit is 4123, the praefurnum wall. It seems as if its southern limit may be the result of excavation last year; it aligns with the southern face of the northern wall of 4123.
