  • It is possible that the foundation trench was dug out of phase and did not cut 4395. It looked like this layer was cut, and in digging there seemed to be a discernable edge (though clearer near the bottom of the trench rather than the top). A beaten earth floor abutting the wall was found near the southern end of the trench. this seems to be a surface intended to go with 4005. We dug to this beaten earth surface. If 4106 was cut by 4104, then the layer that covered 4106 (4052?) would have also covered 4105.
