Interpretation

- SU 3116 is probably a fragment of displaced floor, fallen wall or collapsed ceiling. Given its proximity to the bell-casting pit and the similarity of its composition to the layers in the pavement, it seems likely that it is flooring cut and removed from this area.

- Partially revealed in 2006, but not excavated until 2007. Since it is so friable, it is possible that there was some loss due to exposure. Seems to be closely related to deposit 3123.
