Interpretation

    • Rubble fill of cut characterised by large rocks and worked stones. Soil is light-mid brown, and more tan-coloured in areas containing fragmented/decayed mortar. Not fully excavated.

  • Many large rocks and worked stones, within very loose light-mid brown silty clay soil. Semi-circular shape. Some tile fragments within fill. Areas of fill also include very fragmented/decayed mortar.
  • Fragmented/decayed morat is quite tan in color. Fill not yet fully removed - to do in 2009 season.
