- The fragment is roughly cut into the shape of a triangle. The straightness of the cuts suggests that the fragment was intentionally trimmed for reuse. The carved surface is worn down and shows the same vein-like discolouration AE 1060. The surfaces are lightly pitted and chipped.
- AE 1064 preserves smooth-surfaced vegetal stalk. Spiral tendrils spring from one side.
- This is not a standard form, but a similar motif (with spirals growing from both sides of the stalk) can be seen in a fragment of a ninth-century ciborium now in the Museo Lapidario of the Cathedral of S. Maria, Anagni (Mengarelli 2006, 71, fig. 8).
