  • circular cut of stratum 8000 for the construction of a posthole supported by fill 8018
  • The boundary of the cut is defined by the presence of stone, brick and mortar reused materials from fill 8018 used and supports for the post. Modern layer 8000 no doubt had a least two phases of deposition (1960s and 1920/30s) which were indistinguishable during excavation and in section and both marked by modern finds. This cut was made in the lower levels of this stratum.
