  • Rectangular cut oriented N-S, in the eastern part of 7031 along western edge of 7041. It is bordered to the north by wall 7006 and to the south by wall 7028. It bottoms in brown construction clay.
  • The western outline of the cut appears to have a continuation to south; the line can be traced in the mortar on top of wall 7028, and possibly also into the vaschetta area to south. The profile of the cut appears very regular, but the many intrusions in its fill and in the pavement around it has created a situation difficult to interpret. The cut is the earliest of several in the area.
