  • Low wall with marble veneer in situ on both faces though broken. Wall seems not to have been higher than 1 course of cubiliae and is mostly comprised of blue mortar. At the north, turns eastward into the section and at the south abuts 6241. 3 evenly spaced depressions are probably for column bases, the southern and northernmost show a second layer of marble veneer in situ perhaps intended to cover the column base. The lengths of the column base depression are, from the southernmost, .62, .64, .44 meters. The marble veneer adheres to a thick backing of more white plaster applied to the face of the reticulatum. 30 cm from the southern end the wall is cut by 6261, which is probably a foundation trench for 6252 (the blocking of wall 6241). The cement floor 6217 with mosaic 6250 run up to the marble veneer of this wall and are to be associated with the same construction phase. An interior pavement by the east of the wall has the same mosaic.
