Description

  • skeleton buried on the western edge of the trench whose upper body lies outside the section
  • trowel, small tools and brushes
  • fossa terragna, singola
  • nessuna copertura
  • NW-SE
  • well preserved
  • Very good, though the left arm is lost (or displaced in fill) and the left leg is cut just below the pelvis
  • HRU 4118 is part of a group of skeletons buried along the west edge of the trench next to wall, SSU 4018. HRU 4118 is among the best preserved of this group, though it has been cut. Its upper body is extends outside the section, but as seen in the section, seems to be intact. Aging and sexing the skeleton is made difficult by the placement of the skeleton and the missing upper body.
  • This grave may have had two phases, one in which skeletons were buried N-S and a second in which they were buried S-N. The lower half of the skeleton was excavated in 2007, the upper half in 2008.
