  • Beaten earth surface composed of a lower layer of sand, rubble and building materials covered by a compact surface of earth. Numerous erratic human bones were present in the context.
  • The surface near the wall 2001 was badly preserved. Construction rubble from dismantled walls is present in lower levels of context. To south of 2041, we excavated a lower layer of building material not present over 2041, clearly preparation for the beaten earth.
